Charli Jane's 1st Birthday

Friday, May 19, 2017

I can't believe that our sweet Charli Jane has already circled the sun!

I remember after she was born, holding her close to me and soaking in the smell of her fluffy duckling hair and staring extra long at every little crease in her lips as she slept on my bare chest. Before I knew it, I'd blink and time would be fast-paced and fleeting.

...And here we are, 13 months later.

I. Just. Can't. Believe. It.

Every 1st birthday our kids have had, we've been known to go a little overboard so I was thrilled to plan a girly birthday party after 6 years of being a "boy-mom" (not that boys aren't great, but seriously y'all...give me all the lace and pink and flowers...AHH!!)

The theme I came up with for Charli's party was "April Showers, Bring Wildflowers".
Each invitation was printed on plantable seed paper, so that all our guests could plant their invite. May your flowers be wild like her hair and as beautiful as her soul.

I'm so thrilled to finally share photos from such a truly perfect celebration for our sweet girl.

    1. Hello Morgan! You can find the stroller on Amazon! It's made by a German company, but I cannot recall the name. Best, Sara

  3. Ah! Such a soothing blog. It felt so positive and good after going through this blog. She is adorable and I must say the hats off to the photographer. My daughter is also turning one next month and even I was thinking of getting a good photo shoot of her in one of the New York venues where we can also celebrate her birthday.

    1. Thank you so much Natalie! The embroidered outfit is linked at the bottom of this post. It is a one of a kind piece from Standard of Grace, but she does make other similar pieces. Best of luck to you!

  5. Love this!

How did you create the floral backdrop and gold floral hoops? I'm not sure where to begin when it comes to finding the materials to create this myself!

    Thank you

  7. Hi Sara, I had to leave a comment. How you found all these places? I mean place to order cakes/cookies? Planning my daughters birthday which is on 11th November and seems like I can't find any good places to order. Based in Chester or even Manchester. Your photographs are my inspiration for my little ones birthday.
